Lay Leadership to impress

Designed to further the camaraderie that exists between shluchim and their supporters, the Lay Leadership Conference of the International Kinus Hashluchim will open on Sunday, November 7th with a focus on “Partnering with the Growth of Chabad”.

The conference will host a unique panel comprised of Chabad supporters; George Rohr, Chairman of NCH capital, Eduardo Elsztain, President of IRSA, Meyer Nigri, Chairman of Tecnisa, and Jeffery Cohen, Chairman of Beco management. The symposium will bring forth fresh initiatives in further enhancing the bond between the lay leaders themselves and their respective shluchim.

“People like to connect with other people who are giving to the same cause,” says Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, chairman of the conference. “It brings camaraderie, shared enthusiasm and even positive peer pressure. And the feeling that emanates between the shluchim and their lay leaders is one of true equality.”

As the Rebbe wrote on Chof Hey Shevat 5735 to a sponsor, “One of the aims of Lubavitch is to involve the maximum amount of yidden in its activities, and I mean involve them as partners in such activities. Such partners can be of two kinds; those that are qualified to teach…..and those that are not, etc., and instead are able to contribute financially towards Lubavitch activities, making them equal partners with the activists.”

The Chief Rabbi of Russia, Rabbi Berel Lazar, will address the lay leaders in a special talk about “the future of Russian Jewry”, and Rabbi Shraga Sherman of Chabad of the Mainline, will share his journey from Wharton Business School to Chabad of the Mainline.

Attendees will also hear from Rabbi Yehuda Krinsky of Merkos Linyonei Chinuch and famed conservative radio talk show host Dennis Prager. Having recently written a piece titled “Five lessons for the rest of us from Chabad”, Mr. Prager will share his personal experience of traveling with and partnering with Chabad.

As in previous years the conference will take place at the Brooklyn Marriott.
