MyShliach’s hachana program designed specifically for children has opened its doors to all. Daily audio hiskashrus stories can be accessed on Spotify and a PDF booklet is available to download.

The 30th anniversary of Gimmel Tammuz is fast approaching and parents are looking for ways to ensure their children are prepared adequately for this auspicious day—a day to be marked by increased connection to the Rebbe and renewed dedication to his Shlichus.

MyShliach, the global community of young Shluchim, has curated a multi-faceted Hachana program. “Children, and adults too, relate through stories, so what better way to prepare for gimmel tammuz than through stories of the Rebbe,” says Rabbi Yossi Elberg, Program director of MyShliach at Merkos 302.

The program highlight is a daily recording of a story of the Rebbe, available to all on Spotify. The stories are recorded by renowned storyteller Rabbi Achiezer Langzam. His soft-spoken style concluding with a life lesson is sure to keep children engaged on the commute to school or during downtime at home, invigorating mundane activities with meaning.

A booklet with a 21-day crash course in hiskashrus for children has been compiled by Mrs. Rivka Zarchi. Complete with engaging graphics and child-friendly content, the booklet provides a daily insight into practical hiskashrus in segment one. The second segment explains the dynamics of a Rebbe-Chossid relationship. Lessons from the Rebbe’s teaching over the years, entitled “What the Taught Us,” make up the third and final segment.

“The goal of this booklet is to take Hiskashrus from theoretical to practical,” explains Rabbi Mendy Shanowitz, Director of MyShliach at Merkos 302. “For kids growing up on shlichus or anywhere, every dinner can be turned into a farbrengen by reading from the booklet and posing the engaging questions to each other.”

The booklet is available to download for free as a PDF, or purchase a physical copy for $4.99 (available for pickup only at Merkos 302).

A daily raffle is carried out for children who answer a question online, based on the daily recordings and booklet content. Prizes include Seforim and other prizes.

“The Rebbe placed tremendous emphasis on educating children and giving them personal attention. Whether at ‘Sunday dollars’, or with special rallies and sichas, the Rebbe always made time for them,” said Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky, Executive Director of Merkos 302. “This hachana program aims to help children who haven’t had the opportunity to receive a coin for tzedakah or Kos Shel Brocho, to nonetheless feel connected to the Rebbe.”

In addition to the Hachana initiative, a new season of Mishnayos Ba’al Peh has begun, dedicated in preparation for Gimmel Tammuz, and a “Farbrengen in a box” is available for all for purchase to enable engaging home fabrengens where children can participate and take inspiration from the day.
