The West Coast Tzeirei Hashluchim Winter Camp, in partnership with Merkos 302’s MyShliach, has gotten off to a great start! With over 100 boysflocking from throughout the western United States to the lush and spacious Glendale, California campgrounds, the sounds of davening, learning, and singing can be heard once again.
“It’s incredible to see how the boys have connected with each other so quickly,” shares camp director and shliach to Goleta, California Rabbi Zalmy Kudan. “The chayus in the air here is incredible.” The first day’s packed schedule was topped off by a special farbrengen with California’s head shliach, Rabbi Boruch Shlomo Cunin.
“This is my first time celebrating Yud Tes Kislev with boys my age in real life,” Levi B., age 8, was heard saying. “The way we all sang together at today’s farbrengen made it feel like we were in 770.”
“Each boy here is an incredible soldier of the Rebbe,” says Glendale shliach Rabbi Simcha Backman, who serves on the camp’s executive committee along with fellow California Shluchim Rabbi Nachman Abend and Rabbi Shloimie Bistritzky. “We look forward to a week packed with Chassidishe chayus and exciting activities to last the boys all year long. We are grateful to the directors, Rabbi and Mrs. Zalmy Kudan and Rabbi and Mrs. Mendel Loschak, along with our dedicated head staff, Shneur Brook, Tzviki Pruss, and Moshe Ahron Lipskier, for all their efforts.”
Registrations for the boys’ session went over capacity. A few spots still remain for the girls’ session, which is scheduled to take place from Monday, 26 Kislev, through Monday, 4 Teves. Visit www.tzeireihashluchimcamp.comfor additional information.
