A learning initiative in tri-state area Yeshivos has been launched in partnership with Tut Altz Kids to allow children to join the historical 120 Mitzvah Tank Parade free of charge.
The largest Mitzvah Tank Parade in history is taking form, and a Hachana Program has been launched in local schools to provide children with a more meaningful experience. Participants in the Hachana will enter a raffle to join the parade and the ensuing Mitzvoim at no cost!
“Young children have been a staple on the Mitzvah Tanks for decades,” said Rabbi Menachem Cunin, one of the parade organizers. “Junior Tankistim can be seen on video, proudly marching up to the Rebbe to accept their dollars. We are taking the parade to the next level in many areas and wanted to enhance the experience for the children by having them prepare for this special opportunity.”
In recent years, reserving one of the limited junior slots on the Tank Parade came with a charge to parents. This year, Tzach’s Mitzvah Tank Org was looking to make the parade more relevant for kids as well as provide a financial break to parents, so they partnered with The Moshiach Office at Merkos 302 to create a Hachana program. Every boy in the Tri-state area who participates will be entered into a raffle for an available spot on a Mitzvah Tank.
To be eligible, the kids must study the first segment of Emunah For Everyone, a six-part series, from Tut Altz Kids, with the first section dedicated as a Hachana for Yud Alef Nissan. The series is based on V’Ata Tetzaveh, the last Maamar the Rebbe distributed. Engaging and practical, the lessons explore the unique Avoda of Dor Hashvii and the role of a Rayeh Mehemna.
“The Zechus of joining the Tank Parade is the most natural reward for participating in this learning program,” explained Rabbi Shlomie Naparstek, Director of the Moshiach Office at Merkos 302. “After gaining a real appreciation for Hiskashrus in our Geulah generation, they will be implementing what they’ve learned doing Mivtzoim on the Rebbe’s birthday!”
A palpable buzz can be felt in the schools, with over 700 boys excitedly using their free time to study the material as the final quiz will be taking place this Wednesday.
“This enthusiasm of his young Chassidim in doing the Rebbe’s Mivtzoim and learning His teachings are a most befitting gift for the Rebbe’s 120th Birthday. He is surely having much Nachas,” said Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, Vice Chairman of Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch.
